Our Purpose
Easton Baptist seeks to be a church where the Bible is taught and people are loved so that Christ is formed in us.
We believe the central message of the Bible, which is the Gospel, will draw people to Christ and then grow His fruit in the lives of those that walk in Him. To accomplish our purpose, we aim to teach the bible clearly and practically and love our community, the world and each other as Christ has loved us.
Our Core Beliefs
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, as it is in truth, the Word of God (1 Thessalonians 2:13). We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God’s preservation of His pure words to every generation (2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 12:6-8). The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Textus Receptus (Received Text) of the New Testament are the texts of the original languages we accept and use. In all of our church meetings, The King James Version of the Bible will be used. We cling to the Scriptures as our sole authority for faith and practice.
Leadership
The Lord directed Pastor Jake and his family to lead Easton Baptist in April of 2014. He is a 2009 graduate of Crown College of the Bible and prior to coming to Easton served as an assistant at Eastern Shore Baptist in Grasonville, MD. Jake and Valerie were married in 2009 and have four boys; Caleb, Nathaniel, Ethan and Andrew.
